What is "Toastmasters"?Toastmasters is a nonprofit organization that offers proven (and enjoyable!) ways to practice and improve communication and leadership skills. Most of our meetings are comprised of between 10-20 people who meet weekly for an hour. We gather at a restaurant, and hold our meetings over breakfast. Participants practice and learn skills by taking on meeting roles that range from giving prepared or impromptu speeches, to serving as the speech timer, evaluator, or grammarian. There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved. (Paraphrased from the Toastmasters International website) Meeting InformationOur meetings are held on Friday mornings at 7 AM in the back room of the Pancake Haus in downtown Edmonds. The address is 530 5th Ave S, Edmonds, WA 98020. Contact UsFor more information contact Marty at 206-362-1572, or send an email. |
